Years ago I decided that if I ever had a website that I would call it The Quilt Is My Delight, after a Scottish bagpipe tune called The Kilt Is My Delight. I never thought I would end up blogging under the same name.
My maternal grandfather was a Scot who learned to play the bagpipes after he emigrated with his family to Australia. Many is the story I've heard about him from my mother, and he must have been quite a character.
The kilt is the national garb of Scotland (partly shown here). It's a pleated garment, but don't even think of calling it a skirt. Most kilt-wearing men are armed!
